Deakin’s off-campus postgraduate courses in Occupational Hygiene comprise an articulated program of units at the graduate certificate and graduate diploma levels.
These courses have been developed in consultation with the Australian Institute of Occupational Hygienists (AIOH) and are designed to enable students to develop specialist skills in all aspects of occupational hygiene, including the legislative and regulatory framework, the science and the professional practice.
Continuing input from employers ensures that the courses are relevant and up-to-date with workplace requirements. Industry-based occupational hygiene projects provide hands-on experience to develop graduates who are job ready. The courses include units on chemical hazards, toxicology and biohazards, physical hazards, human factors, risk assessment and control.
