Queensland Mining to drill for copper at Morris Creek, Qld

QUEENSLAND Mining Corporation will soon commence drilling at its Morris Creek prospect.

The copper miner announced it expects to start drilling next month.

Howard Renshaw managing director of QMC said the Morris Creek prospect is identical in many ways to CuDeco's Rocklands copper project, associated with a prominent fault, similar breccias and rocktypes, and possessing identical geophysics.

Renshaw said these copper minerals are associated with fault-related breccias which hold good potential for gold mineralisation as well, given the gold content of the Rocklands ore body.

He said recent geophysical exploration has located a strong radiometric anomaly trending from Morris Creek into the Rocklands project.
