REVISED contracting and procurement opportunities have been listed for the Gorgon liquefied natural gas project off the coast of Western Australia (WA).

The Gorgon project is one of Australia’s single biggest developments, with an estimated resource of more than 40 trillion cubic feet of gas, and a nominal development life of around 60 years.

The project proposes to build a Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) production facility on Barrow Island, 70 km off the Pilbara coast of WA.

Approval for the Gorgon Development Proposal was given by the Federal Government, following four years of State and Federal assessment.

The project is now building environmental conditions into its work regarding the project’s optimisation and engineering.
